Sale comprises two scrap yard locations; Buyer is an industry leader in metal recycling
June 2025 – IG has marked its sixth closing in the recycling sector with the sale of a scrap metal recycling business in the Southeast region of the U.S. The 60-year old company recycles ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and limited paper/plastics materials. Serving primarily commercial/industrial customers by providing roll-off trucks and open top scrap trailers for material collection, it also buys recyclables from the general public.
The seller has established a management team to oversee daily operations, which will help facilitate the transition to the new owner.
The buyer is a prominent, family-founded corporation with a vast network of scrap metal recycling facilities in multiple states. The acquisition of these two scrap yards will enhance the buyer’s footprint in the Southeast and – per the growth strategy of both parties – it will increase the company’s positive impact on recycling in the local community in the years to come.
IG has now completed three recycling transactions with this strategic buyer.
